1. Bulgarian Government Scholarships

Bulgaria has one of the lowest tuition fees in Europe. Students from the European Union and Bulgaria will receive further financial assistance from the government.

The Scholarships of the Bulgarian Government are only available to EU/EEA citizens. This is a partially financed award for students with capability. All courses are taught in Bulgarian language so candidates must have the ability to communicate in Bulgarian.

2. OppU Achievers Scholarships 

Applicants with a CGPA of 3.5 or higher are eligible for the OppU Achievers Scholarship. The value of the scholarship is $2,500. The grant will cover the student’s tuition and administrative costs.

3. Varna Free University Scholarships

Every year, the Varna Free University awards scholarships to many international students. These scholarships are dependent on your academic achievement and also merit-based.

Varna Free University provides full and partial scholarships, as well as monthly stipends. For students who have an interest in sports and athleticism, for them, sports scholarships are also available.

4. EESA Scholarships

Eastern European Study Abroad (EESA) Scholarships allow students to study in an Eastern European country and take advantage of short-term courses during summer months, semester programs, or gap year programs. The EESA programs offer the following advantages:

  • Students with a CGPA of 2.5 or higher will be eligible for a scholarship ranging from $100 to $600 for the summer program.
  • Students with a CGPA of 2.5 or higher will be eligible to win a scholarship from $1,000 to $7,500 for a year-long program.
  • Students with a CGPA of 2.5 who require financial assistance for their study will be eligible for a $2,500 scholarship.
  • Students with a CGPA of 3.25 will be eligible for a $2,500 merit-based scholarship.
    Those who write an article about their experience on the EESA website will be eligible for an additional $100 scholarship.

5. American University Scholarships

The American University in Bulgaria offers various scholarships for international candidates to pursue higher education. These scholarships are;

  • Need-based Scholarships
  • Merit-based AUBG Scholarships
  • Yury Zabello Scholarships for Belarus citizens. The value of this scholarship is $2,500 and is given to only two students.
  • The Gibson Black Sea Award for Ukraine, Georgia, Turkey, and Romania applicants, value is $5,000.
  • The Pride Campaign Award of worth $3,000.
  • USIT Scholarships of $2,500 are awarded to students from poor Asian countries or Eastern European countries.
  • Philhellene Scholarships are available to Greek citizens. The Scholarship is worth $2,000 for the first year of studies.
  • Serdika Grants for $2400 are granted to recently graduated students.
