Period of Tokyo Scholarship

For Master’s Degree Program = October, 2024 – September, 2026 (2years)
For Doctoral Degree Program = October, 2024 – September, 2027 (3years)

Scholarship Coverage

The Scholarship of Tokyo University is a fully funded scholarship for international students and will cover most of the student’s expenses.

Full Tuition and Entrance Fee Exemption.
Monthly Allowance:
- 144,000 Yen/Month (for a student in a Master’s Program).
- 145,000 Yen/Month (for a student in a Doctoral Program).
An additional monthly stipend of 2,000 or 3,000 yen can be added to students who are studying or doing research in certain areas of the country.
Tuition Fee: Full Tuition and Enrollment fees will be exempt.
Travelling Cost: Round Airfare Travel Tickets will be provided to/From Japan to their Home Country.

Eligibility Criteria

International students from all over the world are eligible to apply for a Japanese Government scholarship.
Applicants must be born on or after April 2, 1985.
Candidates must apply for the field of study or Subject they have studied at their former university or related field.

Language Requirements

Applicants must meet the English language proficiency requirements.
The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) has a test score of English proficiency of B2 or above on the scale (e.g. TOEFL iBT 72 or above, IELTS 5.5 or above).

All those Students whose language institute was in the English Language can submit a certificate of English proficiency from their university and are exempt from the language test.
