Amber Grant was founded in 1998 by WomensNet.WomensNet proudly maintains this legacy today by awarding at least $30,000 in Amber Grant funds each month.

We have also broadened our grant program to include two “$25,000 Year End Grants,” “Startup Grants,” and “Business Category Grants” in acknowledgment of the diversity of businesses run by women.

What is An Amber Grant?

The first Amber Grant was awarded in 1998 in honor of 19-year-old Amber Wigdahl, who passed away before fulfilling her entrepreneurial goals. These days, three $10,000 Amber Grants are given out each month. Moreover, three of the 36 monthly winners will get an extra $25,000 from the Year-End Amber Grant.

WomensNet was founded many years ago to help women to achieve their business dreams.

In addition to giving out funds for women-owned businesses, WomensNet is a group of resourceful women who write original articles and reports to support other female entrepreneurs. They occasionally even consult with or offer our community members tailored business advice.

All of these grants require only one application to be considered. It is that easy.

1. Monthly Amber Grant

After evaluating every application, our judges choose ten finalists each month. The $10,000 Amber Grant winner will be one of those finalists.

2. Monthly Startup Grant

A business that is still in the “idea phase” or that has made only modest revenues (less than $10,000) is classified as a “startup.” Although our monthly Amber Grants are open to all startups, we have established a special grant just designed for this underserved sector. The $10,000 Amber Grant winner each month is eligible for the $25,000 year-end award.

3. Business Category Grants

The $10,000 Amber Grant (for the month the application is filed) is available to any female entrepreneur who completes her application. However, we also select one winner of a $10,000 Business Category grant each month.

The process of application is simple. Please give us a brief overview of yourself and your company idea in a few minutes. There is no lengthy or difficult form required to fill out.
