Eligibility Criteria For MEXT Japanese Government Scholarship

Required Language: English is the required language.
Eligible countries: All international students are eligible.
Applicants must have citizenship of a country having diplomatic relations with Japan.
An applicant with Japanese nationality at the time of application is not eligible.
For Undergraduate Students: Applicants must be at least 17 years of age and under 25 years of age and have completed 12 years of schooling or completed courses at a school comparable to a high school (including potential graduates).

For Teacher training students: Applicants must be under the age of 35 years and a graduate of a college or teacher training college. Applicants must have at least five years of experience as a teacher in a primary, secondary, or teacher training college in your country.
For Japanese Study Students: Applicants must be from under the age of 18 to 30 years.
