The Start Her Peanut Grant is a program launched by Peanut, a women’s social networking app, aimed at helping soon-to-be mothers by offering them financial support and community involvement. Let’s explore the benefits of the Peanut Grant and how it might support women as they approach childbirth.
Michelle Kennedy founded Peanut in 2017 and her only objective is to assist women in creating deep and meaningful connections. Her expansion of that effort, Peanut StartHER, was launched four years later.
StartHER gives access to the elusive “friends and family” round and challenges biases in venture capital. Since many entrepreneur current networks lack the means to provide such amounts, obtaining capital from friends and family is not a possibility for them.
What is StartHER?
StartHER is a microfund that provides support to female and underrepresented founders who want to improve society, healthcare, or the environment. Founders can be of any age, from any stage of life to any ethnicity.
The aim of StartHER is to provide everyone with an equal opportunity by changing the mechanics of funding, giving access to professional networks, and eventually creating a home for the emerging faces of entrepreneurship.
We want to hear from you if your pre-seed or early-stage company aims to improve society, healthcare, or the environment.

Benefits of Start Her Peanut Grants
Qualified applicants will receive checks from the StartHER fund ranging from $25,000 to $50,000, which is the normal pre-seed investment. Additionally, Kennedy said that candidates who are “diverse” and underrepresented will receive special attention.
Although getting that first check is never simple, we can level the playing field if we have the right support and help from the start.
